My MIDI Studio
The Path of a MIDI Synth Addict
Steven has dabbled in music as a hobby and creative outlet since the age of 8 when he began taking piano and violin lessons. He then went on to play in the school orchestra and eventually with a church worship band. Although his music interests have continued throughout his life, his primary career focus became centered on engineering. He earned his B.S. in Engineering Technology and his B.S. in Computer Science, and he has worked for over 32 years in various technical occupations.
He is hoping that his music interests will continue long into retirement as an avocation. He continues to dabble with MIDI composing and arranging in his home studio which includes a Toshiba i7 Quad Core laptop, Dell Inspiron laptop, Yamaha P200 digital piano, Kawai K4 Sampler Synth, Yamaha DX27 Digital-Analog Synth, and Band in a Box, Real Band, and Music Creator 6 DAW’s which run thousands of VST sounds including those in the Miroslav Philharmonik and the Garritan, and DSK Collections.
Steven’s music interests include Classical, Jazz, Gypsy, World, Folk, Rock, New Age, Electronic, and CCM. His musical influences include: Django Reinhardt, Bela Fleck, George Winston, Fresh Aire/Mannheim Steamroller, Kansas, Kerry Livgren, Michael W. Smith, and of course all the classical artists and Walter Carlos on the classic Moog.
