I have found this product to be extremely useful. I sew a piece of web belting across my Canon digital camera straps and this thing hooks right on [can also use the SAS system if you wish which also works well]. When opened it opens with the pockets up so nothing falls out and there is room for a BP-511 Canon battery and a memory card or 2 of either. Thier red flag system works well to let you know the card or battery is a used one. With the battery life I have found I can carry a battery and a spare card and I am good to go for some rather long shoots and if I do run out I do not even need to remove the camera strap from my neck to reload which only takes a second or 2. CF cards are now available up to 32Gb so one spare is more than sufficient for a tremendous volume of shooting and will outlive several batteries though Canon's batteries have good endurance. With an extra battery and card I have never ever run out of power or space and I have often taken well over 1ooo photos in a day - if there is a limit its battery power and you can carry two in this case if you like and with a clean card you should be good to go all day long even with heavy shooting.
Highly recommended it is a standard I have added to each of my canon DSLR cameras [3]. Have encountered no problems of any kind, even with the zipper which if often a weak point.
