I have another case that I use an earlier version DV Camcorder. My new camcorder was a little bigger, and this carrying case does more than expect. It offers plenty of room my DSR-PD170, and my vct-870 tripod fits perfectly on top. The top of the case has a pair of velcor adjustable straps that allow you to secure the tripod to the bag and for added strength, there's a pair of flaps with a push lock strap in the middle. I no longer have to carry the bag and the tripod (one on each shoulder). Also the over-the-shoulder strap is hefty enough that you hardly feel as though your carrying that much equipment. There are two side pouches for smaller items and a larger one in the front (I keep my audio stuff there). All have zippers so you don't have to worry about anything falling out. Inside there is the main compartment for the camcorder and the side part I use for the extra lens. The zipped up back part is good for documents and manuals and there is the elastic net inside. All and all it's a great case. I would buy another if I needed.
