This is a very good quality mic for the price. If you want more you will have to spend much more.I bought my first one a year ago and have shot over 100 hours with it with great results. I agree with Phil, you can use (and probably should) a simple shoe-horn extender to move it away from the camera. Anybody who's shot much tape should know that any mic (especially a good one) will pick up motor hum from the camera. I am getting ready to buy my second one since I lost my first in a float trip. I highly recommend this mic unless you have the $$ to buy-up!
Problems Encountered: Nothing that a thousand dollars couldn't fix.
