I purchased the Z10000 to replace my Canon XH-A1 a little over a year ago, and I'm ready to buy a second one.
The problems people complain about with regard to editing are not a problem with the availability of several good NLE programs including Edius 6.5 or 7, Premiere Pro CS6/CC with the Vison3 plug in, and there are some things to like about Sony's Movie Studio, particularly the Blu-Ray Architect. All of these programs handle the Z10's M2TS files with no problem. I did have a problem with a gap in the sound where the camcorder breaks long clips into segments, but the (free) MTS Merger utility solves the probem. The advantage of a single stereo video file is not having to synchronize the left and right video.
For me the next best thing to the Z10 is the Zony TD300 - for about 10 times the price. I now shoot with the Z10 and a Sony TD10 for two camera 3D, but I'm abuot ready to buy a second Z10 instead.
