Can't shoot without it.
I have been using this product since May 2009. I have a Canon GL-2, 2.5 inch screen,before I got this shade I could not see a thing on the screen if I was outside, sunny or not,even if I went into the menu to try & make adjustments, nothing worked. The shade solved that problem, it even improved viewing the image while shooting indoors, I always use it,it's a permanent fixture in my bag.
The material that it is constructed from is very solid and rugged, it has an expensive feel to it. The great thing about it is that you can bend it & twist it to suite your viewing angle, especially when you are using a tripod, that is mainly because of the accordian construction. Before you put it on your screen pre-fasten the strap (velco) make it tight then slip it onto your screen ( it will take a little muscle) but it will fit tight & will not slide off when you are adjusting it. You can extend it, bend it to the left, right ,up,or down,or even collasp it.
The only negitive thing I have to say about this shade is the price, it is very expensive for such a small item. Don't worry it's worth every penny
